One of the most exciting things for our aesthetic providers is being able to add a new cosmetic treatment to our collection and share it with our patients. Cosmetic rejuvenation takes so many forms and as long as a treatment meets our standards for quality, effectiveness, and safety, we are always seeking new ways to help people look and feel their best. With this in mind, we wanted to take the time to answer a few questions about one of our newest cosmetic treatments, microblading for the eyebrows.
Question #1: How long does microblading for the eyebrows typically take?
Every patient is different, but the initial microblading treatment session typically takes between 2-3 hours. Timing may vary based on the specifications and needs of each of our patients. In order to achieve the best possible microblading results for the eyebrows, additional treatment sessions may be required. In these cases, subsequent treatments will be shorter than the initial one (often between 1-2 hours).
Question #2: How painful are microblading treatments?
Thankfully, the treatment is essentially pain-free. Our aesthetician will apply a topical anesthetic before and during the treatment to assure that the patient is comfortable throughout their experience. In some cases, it’s normal to feel a slight scratching or pulling sensation during treatment, but this effect is very minor. Some post-treatment moderate redness and swelling in the eyebrow area may occur, not unlike many other common treatments for the face.
Question #3: How long will the results of my microblading treatment last?
The results achieved with microblading for the eyebrows are very long-lasting, but not permanent. Depending on the patient’s skin type and tone, the final results can last up to 18 months, or longer in some cases. Many patients are able to extend their results even longer with the help of yearly touch-up treatments.
