How Kybella Works

Kybella uses a synthetic form of deoxycholic acid, a molecule that occurs naturally in the body and aids in the breakdown and absorption of fat. During treatment, we administer a series of small injections under the chin. Once injected, Kybella is able to destroy fat cells in the treated area,resulting in a noticeable reduction in fullness under the chin. Once destroyed, these cells will no longer be able to store or accumulate fat!

How many Kybella treatments will I need to undergo?

This varies depending on the chin profile and amount of fat in the area for each individual patient. Before treatment begins, our cosmetic provider will examine the chin area to determine the most appropriate treatment plan. Typically, patients undergo between 1-6 treatments, spaced 1 month apart.
