Botox® Cosmetic & Dysport® Injections
Botox® Cosmetic is an FDA-approved treatment that can help treat wrinkles, lines, and other signs of facial aging that are caused by repeated movements or expressions. Unlike facial fillers, they are specifically intended to treat frown lines, crow’s feet, forehead lines, and other imperfections that appear in the upper portion of the face. The results achieved with Botox® injections are intended to be subtle and natural-looking.
How Botox® Works
During the treatment, Botox® is carefully injected directly into the treatment area. Depending on the person, facial lines can be caused by cellular changes that occur over time, a reduction of the amount of collagen produced, or certain repeated facial expressions that cause the muscles in the face to contract. Once injected, Botox® Cosmetic works to relax the muscles in the upper third portion of the face that cause lines, wrinkles, or folds to appear. The result is visibly smoother, younger-looking skin.
Who is a good candidate Botox® Cosmetic Injections?
Any person who wishes to reduce the appearance of lines, wrinkles, or other signs of facial aging in the upper third portion of the face may be a good candidate for Botox® injections. It’s important to consult in-person with one of our licensed providers to confirm that you are a good candidate.
What happens after my Botox® treatment has concluded?
Downtime is minimal after Botox®. Results can typically be seen 24-48 hours after the treatment has been performed and they will continue to improve in the weeks that follow.
Dysport® works in a similar fashion to Botox®, as it provides natural-looking results for those who want to reduce the appearance of wrinkles in the upper portion of their face. Dysport® is commonly used to reduce the appearance of lines that affect the area in between the eyebrows known as the glabella. The treatment works by relaxing the underlying muscles beneath the skin, allowing the skin to appear smoother. Dysport® can also be used to treat forehead wrinkles and the appearance of crow’s feet around the eyes.
