Asclera is an FDA-approved injectable sclerotherapy treatment for uncomplicated spider veins and small varicose (reticular) veins in the legs. It’s administered by MadEmEl’s certified nurse practitioners.

Expectations
Asclera is injected directly into the treatment area, where it safely alters the lining of the blood vessel. In the weeks following treatment, the vein collapses further beneath the skin’s surface and becomes progressively less visible until it’s naturally reabsorbed by the body. The treatment is virtually pain-free — patients may feel a small pinch at injection, or a mild, brief burning sensation with larger veins. Because Asclera is not FDA-approved for the face, facial spider veins are treated with laser instead.
Aftercare
No downtime is required, and most patients resume normal activities immediately. A compression garment may be recommended in the days following treatment to support long-term results. Some mild, temporary bruising or cramping in the treated leg is possible for a day or two. Sun exposure to the treated area should be avoided in the days following treatment.
