How Asclera Works
Asclera is an injectable form of sclerotherapy. The treatment is administered directly into the area you want addressed. Once it’s injected Asclera safely alters the blood vessel lining. In the weeks following treatment, the treated veins will collapse further from the surface layer of the skin and become less visible until finally being naturally reabsorbed by the body.
Asclera FAQ’s
How do I choose between Asclera and a laser spider vein treatment?
People who have spider veins on their face may require a laser treatment, as Asclera is not FDA-approved to treat the face. For many patients, pairing Asclera with a cosmetic laser treatment can often provide the best and longest-lasting aesthetic results. Typically, Asclera treatments are performed first to address the main vessels and then either an M22 IPL or Q-Switched Laser can help by clearing up any remaining redness and veins.
Will I experience any pain or discomfort from this treatment?
No, the treatment is virtually pain-free. Patients may feel a small pinch at the time of injection and/or a very mild burning sensation in the cases of larger veins, but this only lasts a few seconds. Asclera does not require any downtime for recovery and is not associated with any lingering post-treatment effects.
